Protocol error upon sending? How can I fix it?

Occassionally I can't send an email and I get a protocol error from McAfee.
Task "incoming.verizon.net - sending 'reported error (0x800CCC78):'Unable to
send the message. Please verify the email address in your account properties.
The server responded: 550 5.7.1 Authentication Required."

I disable the outgoing email virus scan in Mcafee and it still would not
send. I disabled all email scans and I still get the error. I verified th
email address as correct and I even tried sending it from the contact name on
the website. The email address was the same.

I then got another error message:

"The server responded C\Windows\system32\inetcomm.dll"

How can I get this fixed?

OK. More info. It's not just ocassionally. It's every email I send has this
error. I sent out 5 test messages to various places including my work and my
wife's work and nothing went through. How can I get this fixed. My incoming
emails are fine.

Nevermind. I found my answer from a response to someone else's "ERROR
MESSAGE" question from 8/17 and the link to the Help and Support section. I
typed in my error message and code number and, although I did not get the
exact answer I was looking for, it lead me to the TOOLS and EMAIL ACCOUNTS
section to deal with the issue on my side. I found out that technician did
not set up the OUTGOING section of my email account correctly. He tested
incoming messages only but not outgoing messages.

I guess this is just a reminder for anyone that if someone sets up your new
computer and transfers all the email settings make sure they test both
incoimg and outgoing messages to see if they work.
