I was hoping that somone could / would inform me of just how to do a
couple of things on my new XP system. Please let me explain a little; I
have a broadband connection with Sympatico to start ... questions a)
How do I set-up the Router so the computer and other systems in the
home can use the connections as well as the childs Playstation2 on the
Windows XP system b) Also my child plays this game called "the Sims"
and I was wondering if & how she can save the game she is palying "
When she's made to leave the computer" to a 250MB_ZIP disc? I feel so
bad making her quit the game and telling her Not To Save it to the HD"
as the game takes her a long time to configure. c) I have just added a
new combination,Printer/Scanner/Copier/Fax machine which has a program
called Lexmark Image Studio. My question is can I send & receive a Fax
while On-Line since it is a Broadband connection with Windows_XP for
the OS ???

Your knowledge and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There are 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who do understand binary
and those who don't.

Don't. Go get a cheap router. It certainly true that anyone with two nics
can set their xp system up to do this, but it is just not a good
configuration. You will be much happier with a dedicated device that will
share the connection for all your nodes.

Ok, do you make her reinstall the game everytime she wants to play?
Lets be realistic. A saved game takes up a faction of percent of the free
space of a standard drive.
If it really really bothers you, have her save to the hard drive them copy
the saved game file to the a zip disk.
Or go look at the Sims online help or aske those newsgroups for another
solution.

You have broad band. You are always online.
Since it is a seperate communications from the POTS line (plain old
telephone), the only thing you need to worry about before you send a fax is
a) is there someone on the phone, b) did i plug the fax into the phone jack,
c) did I remeber to put a cover sheet on ?
