After removing some programs via Add and Remove in Control Panel they are
still listed on the All Programs list. How can I clean this up?

See if the programs have an uninstaller of their own.
Right-click the "All Programs" program name, Properties, "Find Target" button.
No uninstaller? Just delete the entire folder and the "All Programs" program name.
No folder? Just delete the "All Programs" program name.
