How do I prevent FP from closing down after I click Cancel on the Wizard
Activation Window that appears everytime you open FP? It never did it before
until a couple of days ago. How do I prevent this from happening again after
I get it fixed?

Your trial period has expired and you need to activate the product to continue to use FP. Unless you
activated FP, at this point you will continue to see this prompt until you do so.

| Very funny! Do you really think I would be here if the answer was that
simple?

I am not using a trial period, I am using a full price, bought and paid for
FrontPage 2003. It has been installed for over two months and just started
doing this day before yesterday. The Wizard
Activation Window has appeared everytime I've opened FrontPage, since the
first day I got it.

It won't let me activate it. I have been using this for around two months
and it just started doing this a couple of days ago. If I do try to
activate, a dialogue box comes up and says that it is unable to connect to
the internet and that I should try later. Yet the internet connection is
working fine and this "try again" scenario continues as long as you want to
set there and click buttons that get you nowhere.

Did you activate FP when you first installed it? If not then it installed in trial mode for a 60 day
period. To continue to use it, you have to activate it.

You have two options for activation:

1. Make sure you have a internet connect open in IE prior to launching FP, then FP should connect.

2. You should have a choice to use Telephone Activation, if not try doing a full re-install and then
select the Phone Activation option.

If neither of the above work, see:

Then use the telephone option to activate.

Thank you for providing more detail to the solution advice. I will try what

Then if you still can't get Activated, you will need to contact Microsoft Product Support. This
newsgroup is peer to peer.

Okay, thank you very much. I must close for now. I will try this a little
later today and keep you informed on the results. You guys have really been
a big help. Just be patient with the slow and learning of the world. I'm
sure I will need more of your help later.

I wanted to let all of you who participated in trying to help me that the
problem is now resolved. You guys were right about the activation process
needing to be completed. Again, thank everyone for all your time and
concern. I'm sure I will be back at another time, needing more of your help.
Keep up the good work. Perhaps the day will come when I will be able to
return the favor to someone.

TeJyng: Glad you got it worked out. Sorry things were so frustrating for
you (and us ;-).

Best,
