Program will not run after installing

I have one customer that has installed my program on an XP machine. It's a
standalone machine but when he tries to start the program he gets the
following error "problem with shortcut---the item MSAccess.exe that this
shortcut refers to has been changed or moved"
The developers kit should install the runtime version of Access so he
shouldn't need to have MS Access.
He installed the program on another machine and everything works fine, but
the computer he needs the program installed on will not run it. Does anybody
have any ideas what could be wrong. I have this same program running on over
170 different computers and this is the only one that is giving me problems.
Thanks for any help, I get great help with funny problems here. Thanks again.

The runtime version that the developers kit installs IS named msaccess.exe.

Either the runtime didn't get installed correctly, or the user doesn't have
the appropriate privileges to run it, or it's installed in some place other
than where the shortcut expects to find it.

I'm going to connect up to his computer later tonight or tomorrow and I'll
look at those areas. I'm using the XP developer kit and Access is 2002, do
you know if the runtime version that is free for 2007 will work with my
version of Access? I don't know if I need to change but maybe if this
becomes a problem I thing about it. Thanks for your suggestions.

I would use 2002 (XP) runtime with a 2002 format database (well, actually I'd
probably use 2003 but if 2002 is what you've got there is very little
difference). Going to 2007 would be a much bigger change - the new user
interface is VERY different (no toolbars but a ribbon instead, new accdb/accde
formats, major changes in security etc.)

2007 *can* run 2002 format databases, but I've heard of many problems using
runtimes across versions.

Thanks John, hopefully I can stay with the XP. I would not like to have to
retrain all users.

Thanks again
