Program Uninstall Issue

Diane

I only thought I was an idiot--

I have a recipe database program which started to actup. So, I decided to
uninstall and reinstall it hoping that it would function properly.( I was
getting a load error telling me the system was out of memory) Of course it
wasn't, because I had only added a small number of recipes to the database,
I have better then half the space left on my drive which is 60 GB and 1 GB
of ram with WinXP/SP2. I have no problems with my PC which is running
perfectly fine. This program ran fine previously although I don't use it
but a couple of times a month. Changes have been made to the my PC but only
to the extent of Windows Updates and 512 MB of Ram added 3 months ago.

So, I get into the program innards and see that there is an uninstall
folder for the two part program, one for the recipe side and one for the
cookbook side. Like a good soldier, I uninstall, by double clicking the
respective folders. The program guts are removed but I am left with and
"exe" file and the shortcut to which access is denied because either "the
disk is full or write protected". HuH! I have full administrative rights on
this PC and that is not the issue.

I reinstalled the program, got it up and running and then tried the Control
Panel route removing both portions of the program...am still left with the
shortcut and the "exe" file. I have inquired of the publisher about the
load error and how to remove the program completely, but there has been no
response.

Is there something I can do about removing the remnants of this program?
Thanks

D.
