Program startup question

I do not use Works Calendar or its reminder service. I see the reminder
application running in the background and in the startup list. I want to
prevent it from starting and I will address the issue with a more general
question.

Can I delete any program listed in Documents and Settings\USER\Start
Menu\Programs\Startup\. I see the Works Reminder application in the list of
programs in this directory as well as another application I might want to
delete. Thanks

Run MSCONFIG and check the startup tab. carefully read before making any
changes.
