Program Indicator in Windows XP Status Bar

Is there any way to get rid of the "dead" and useless
Spyware button with the red target icon
and "gcasDtServHolder" that clutters my lower active
program Status bar? Clicking on that button does
nothing...;
Thanks,

Ken in San Diego

Actually, it has a purpose, for launching the program or shortcut to
shutting down the program, quick scan, check your security agent status.

You can hide it another, right click the taskbar, choose Properties > under
"Notification Area" > choose "Customize", select Microsoft AntiSpyware -
Active > click in the "Behaviour" box and select "Always Hide".
