After installing the new spyware program on a customer machine, I was unable
to access the Windows Updates site. The page comes up blank, with "done" in
the status bar.
I tried my banking site, which is a secure site, and I was able to log on
and view my account.
I tried going to www.microsoft.com, which worked fine. Then I clicked on
the Windows Updates link there, and the page came up blank with the "done"
indicator on the status bar.
I also tried to go to the MSN Premium download at verizon.com by going to
http://www2.verizon.net/welcome/?version=dsl , then clicking on the Go
button by "MSN Premium Internet Software". Internet Explorer tried to go to
http://www.verizon.net/micro/betterway/?promotion_code=&variant= , but I got
the same result: a blank page and "done" in the status bar. In some of the
above instances I also got a couple of script error messages "unable to run
script". I tried lowering security and privacy levels in IE, but that did
not help.
Any further troubleshooting direction would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
