I am having an issue. I have a user who has a laptop and now wants to join
the company domain. Problem is he has tons of data ie. email....calendar
appts and stuff on his laptop. I created a user account on the 200 server
domain for him and joined his laptop to the domain. As expected he does not
see any of his old data and emails ect. What is the best way to have him see
his old stuff? Thanks!

That procedure only copies the profile changes. I would suggest going
directly to the C drive from windows explorer and going inot the documents
and settings folder. In there you will see the user profile folders. Go into
the old profile folder and begin manually copying his information to the
corresponding location in the new profile folder.

You will need to do this for his my documents folder, desktop folder, and
his favorites folder. Also, search the old profile folder for .PST files.
These will contain his old e-mails if he was using outlook.

Or you can try using the file and settigns transfer wizard which takes hours
to run. This is located in Start>Programs>accessories>stsem tools. Here is
the KB article for using the tool. I would personally do it manually. It will
be way faster, but won't catch ALL his settings and files.
