Product Activation Error

S

SH

New Windows XP box ran successfully for the first few
days....then an error appeared on boot regarding Product
Activation. Windows was unable to verify the
license...etc. Code 0x800703e6 I have been unable to find
any information regarding this error and am unable to get
around it. Click OK merely restarts the system and brings
up the same error. Starting into safe mode works and when
attempting to activate it states that it has ALREADY been
activated. Please advise,

Carey,

Thanks, but I have already checked against this doc. In
this case, the registry keys mentioned aren't there. I
have already search the KB and Google for this error and
haven't come up with anything. Does Product Activation,
after the initial activation, try to connect out for any
reason? Our firewall would block this traffic, which
could cause this error..Thoughts?

Hello SH,
Were any permissions changed?
Was any memory added to this machine?
This could be a memory problem. This could be a corrupted file problem,
this could be a access rights problem. We are having problems reading some
data, so either the permissions changed, the data is corrupted, or the
location of the data has changed.
You may need to boot to the cd and allow the machine to do a repair type
install.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

Help?

I too need help with this problem. I get the error code '0x800703e6' A PROBLEM IS PREVENTING WINDOWS FROM

ACCURATELY CHECKING THE LICENCE FOR THIS COMPUTER. My laptop has been a cause of concern for a very long time but i now need big help.

System specs

Fujitsu-seimens amilo L7300 laptop
XP home
40GB HD
192mb RAM
Celeron M processor
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basically, a long time ago my pc actually worked properly, but one day it decided to have a kernel error and wouldn't load. So i done a complete fresh install, but to keep all of my data, i installed windows xp pro so that i could copy all files from home to pro. Anyway I re-installed windows xp home and i have/had 2 working operating systems. All worked perfect for a while, but then xp pro could never load (never loaded it anyway) and had some sort of Boot C:\WINDOWS error, but home edition still worked! However it then took 15minutes to boot (used to take about 30 seconds) and then it worked really slow! And decided not to open up a lot of programs. I tried to use 'recovery console' with my windows xp pro CD (didnt do anything) but now i cant login to my windows home edition! Because it repeatedly says:

A PROBLEM IS PREVENTING WINDOWS FROM

ACCURATELY CHECKING THE LICENCE FOR THIS COMPUTER error code '0x800703e6'.

Please can someone help me, i need all of my work on this pc and refreshing windows completely is not an option.
