I have just installed the latest XP Pro SP2 beta update.

When i go to the update site, i hit custom install (same
for express install though) and "file download" pops up
asking to download "v5track.bin", i click no, then get
this:
Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot
display the requested page.

You may wish to try one of these sources for more
information about Windows Update:

Error number that occured: 0x80244001

Any help please?!?!?!??!

I had the same problem occur a few days ago. Found the following in
the Windows Update Troubleshooter (Click "Help and Support" in the
left pane, then click "Windows Update Troubleshooter"):

Problem Description:
While the Windows Update Web site is loading you get an Initialization
error 0x80244001. This can happen if the MSXML3.dll is missing or not
properly registered.

Resolutions:
To Register MSXML3.dll
1. Click on the Start button
2. Click on RUN
3. In the Open box type "regsvr32 MSXML3.dll" (without quotes)
4. Click Ok
5. Close and restart Internet Explorer

Worked for me. Hope it helps
