Problems with scanner

I previously used Windows ME and my scanner worked perfectly. Since installing a full version of XP home edition, I can't get the scanner to work. I've installed the latest drivers and tried all the windows-based troubleshooting stuff, to no avail. Can anyone help please? The scanner is a usb flatbed FU661E if that helps! Cheers

Remove the scanner with the device manager, step one.
Delete the previous drivers (if you can). 2
Unplug the scanner 3
Reinstall the correct XP drivers 4
Plug the scanner back in 5
If it doesn't work, buy a scanner designed to run on XP.
