Hi there,

I have laptop Toshiba 5100 with Smart Media adapter built-in and
Olympus C-830L and used to use SmartMedia Olympus 4MB-3.3 card and had
no problems. I bought a new SmartMedia card (Fuji 64MB) and this is
what is happening:

1) Scanner and Camera Wizard launches after the card is entered into
the SmartMedia slot (just like usual)
2) After pressing Next button all pictures but first are listed in the
dialog window of Scanner and Camera Wizard. On the first image
thumbnail there is a red cross in red box and it says downloading
underneath.
3) Even if the first image is unticked none of the rest of images can
be downloaded onto the computer (an error message appears saying that
pictures cannot be copied on the computer)
4) I can access, delete, and format SmartMedia from the camera.

I was checking out for this type of error but didn't succeed. Is there
anyone who heard about this problem and could tell me the solution to
this problem? Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jack

The most frequent reports were from owners of HP cameras and the reports
started to come after XP was released and larger cards became available.
Owners of older camera quickly found that using a larger memory card created
problems. Any camera released within a year will have the proper driver to
read these larger cards.

Hi again,

I have downloaded drivers from Toshiba website for my smartmedia
adapter, but the problem persisted. I noticed Error details link and
after clicking this link the message window popped out saying "The
file or directory is corrupted and unreadable". Any ideas?

Many Thanks,

Jack
