Problems recording music

Everytime I try to record music, a screen pops up and says that there is no
cd in the drive, "no disk". I went out and bought new cds and everything.
I've tried cdrw and cdr's. I've tried using Windows Media Player and using a
program called RecordNow. I use to record cds with no problem. I don't
understand why it's not working now. If anyone can help me, please let me
know.
