XP no longers sees Music or MP3 CDS

XP can no longer see standard music CDs or CDs with MP3
files. Not either a CD-RW or DVD RW drive, within any
music application (Media Player, Music Match or iTunes )
or explorer. Data CDs and DVDs are fine. I have tried
rebooting, etc. Have tried unistalling the applications
(with the exception of MP whihc can't be undone) and then
reinstalling them.

At a total loss now.

Turn off your PC, put the hood up and check that all wires are correctly
inserted into the back of the drive.

Or, change your CD drive for a friend's that works.

If after that everything is OK, then bin your CD drive and get another.

Cheers,

May be, you have just lost the file associations. Just reassociate then to
you media player.
