Your tech dept might have disabled installing software without this
certificate. Ask them how to override. You might be able to do it yourself by
going to System Properties in Cntl Panel, Hardware, Driver Signing and change
it to Warn, but allow install.

Before you install Symantec's AV, be aware:
1. It is very difficult to uninstall,
2. It's a resource hog, and
3. There are AV programs that are just as good available for free.
(Grisoft's AVG for one)

new Question. I just installed Symantec AV 10.1.4 on my new vista notebook
and I am getting an error. "Driver not compatible" : Symantec Utility
driver, its really a pain, and here is the kicker, SAV still works when i
manually run it, I have crawled around SAV site looking for support and have
found little to none. Just wishing some here has come across this, before I
scrap it and go to free ware?

In the first place this newsgroup is for questions on the XP OS. Post to a
Vista newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
microsoft.public.windows.vista.security

Also contact Symantec tech support.

Looks like you need to update to version 10.2

If this is not the case you will have better luck posting in the Vista
newsgroup.
Good luck
