Problems creating Sysprep XP image

Hi,

Using Sysprep for XP, and I'm new to using this tool.

Ok, I must be missing something. Why is there not a prompt for new user
account
with the default settings of the image of XP pro I created.when I go
to roll out the image. And I already specified the Administrators password
in the inf file with Encrytion.

The startup does ask for complete user name, because I left this blank in
the intial inf file.

I made Test user account a member of Power User group

After reading many, many, many sysprep instructions and links:

They say create Test user account
set all the settings that you want to be default for the user
log out of that user and logged in as Administrator
copy Test user profile to default user location
delete Test user account
I created the .inf file with setup manager
I ran sysprep.exe
I checked minisetup and pre-activate ---- by the way most instructions for
sysprep failed to say to check minisetup in order
for sysprep to read the inf file. Assumption is the
mother of all fu.......... ups.
then I clicked reseal and it did it's magic and shut down

Ok, back to the question on the top of this post. And I also get this error
too, on a new startup.

"Setup was unable to change the password for the user account
Administrator. Please enter the
desired password again." What the hell is this?????? I gave it
the dam password already in the
sysprep setup manager wizard for the inf file.

thanks
Gerry

Thanks for your response,

I figured the Administrator password part of it out.
You have to make sure the Administrator password is blank before running
sysprep.
Again, poorly document.......................
