Problems after installing Internet Explorer 7

On my laptop Internet explorer 7 seems to work fine but on my other PC there
was 2 problems (even after doing a system restore and reinstalling).

1) When I type in any URL (like "http:\www.telia.com" or whatever) in the
adress fields and press enter (or use the button to the right) nothing
happens.
It's just plain dead. If I use the popdown menu of previous adresses it
works - but that doesn't help if I want to go to a new adress.

2) If I press the Favourite button in the upper left corner my favourites
does not appear. The list is totally empty.
If I load the menu (with archive - edit etc) on top of the window and use
it - all the items appear there - so I can use those instead. But still the
list on the left side (when pressing the Favourite button) is empty.
I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem but I have
previously changed the default favourite folder by using regedit and
changing the value at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current
Version/Explorer/Shellfolders
But I have changed that on the other PC as well and still that one works.

Anyone here seen or heard of this problem ?

You should post your question in the IE7 newsgroup *after* you spend
some time reading through the posts there. The IE7 newsgroup is:

microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

There are a huge number of posts so it would be smart to start by going
to Google Groups Advanced Search. Use a search term that describes your
problem, constrain the search to the IE7 newsgroup and the date to very
recently. You can also check MVP Sandi Hardmeier's canonical IE7 site.
Sandi has workarounds, known issues, troubleshooting, and links. This
may be the only site you need.
