Problem with XP Home on Fujitsu Lifebook P2120

I am slowly going insane trying to figure out why a computer program called
Quackle (free download at quackle.org) won't run on my Lifebook P2120.

I play competitive Scrabble, and this is a great program which allows you to
play Scrabble against the computer, or enter plays from previous games and
analyze what the best play was at any stage of the game.

When I got the P2120 (Windows 2000 was loaded on it), everything worked
beautifully. I downloaded my various Scrabble-related programs and they all
ran fine except Quackle. Quackle downloaded fine, but when I would try to
run it, I would get the "Windows has encountered and error and must close"
error message. I played with various settings, had people more knowledgeable
about Windows than I look at it, talked to people on the Fujitsu Support
Line--all to no avail.

I was mildly interested in Linux anyway, so I decided I would try a Linux
installation. That was an experience which took longer than I had imagined,
but Quackle would run under Linux. Unfortunately, I couldn't get sound, or
wireless card, or the hibernation features to work, and it was much slower
than under Windows.

So I bought a new copy of XP Home Edition and did a clean install. Once
again, everything else worked beautifully, but Quackle won't run.

Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Thanks!

I should have included the information that Quackle runs flawlessly on 2
other computers I have which are loaded with the XP Home Edition OS, and my
work computer, which uses XP Pro.
