Problem with Wordpad

Yes, I know that few people use Wordpad. I also use MS Word and Word
Perfect, but I still have the habit of using Wordpad for simple tasks, and I
have used it for years.

I have a very weird problem, that I assume has a simple fix. At times,
when I am in a long document which I have amended from week to week, there
are certain places within the document that I cannot single space. No
matter what I do, I can only get the "next" line to appear "two" lines
down, as though the document is a double-spaced document. In other words, I
am **forced** to have the document double-spaced.

I can go to another page, or another point on the same page, and single
space with no problems.

I assume that I have accidentally put some kind of a "code" in my text,
without knowing how I did it, or how to get rid of it.

Do any of you have a fix for this ????

I will really, really appreciate it if someone can cure this problem for me
!!!

Thanks for any help !!!

You may have hit CTRL+2 (the control key and the 2 key at the same
time) by accident at some point while typing. To clear it for the
whole document do the following:

Select all by hitting CTRL+A
Set to single space by hitting CTRL+1

Hope this helps.

Thanks, oogla, I did try this, but it does not work. The selected text
remains double-spaced, and no matter what I do, I cannot make it single
spaced. I cannot even get my cursor to "insert" at the space or point where
the next line should start for a single space appearance.

thanks again, that was a good idea.

How big is the file? I would sometimes see this with extremely large
files. I can open and read even larger files, but I have trouble
editing beyond some size (a size which I have never really tried to
determine).

That double spacing is caused from page separation in word pad and is
auto formatted. So when you go to print the pages it will auto break
at that point to print a new page!

It would take a registry editing to change the auto indention of the
program.
