Problem with svchost.exe

I have a problem with svchost.exe. Sometimes it will take 100 MB in RAM and
99% of the CPU. I asked around and people said it depends on the Automatic
Update and told me to install the upgrade KB927891 and I did, but the
problems still remains

Any ideas?

To find out more about Svchost.exe entries try Process Explorer:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/SystemInformation/ProcessExplorer.mspx

Once you have Process Explorer installed and running:
In the taskbar select View and check 'Show Process Tree' and 'Show Lower
Pane' options.
(This will provide the detailed info you need)
Next click/Expand the Svchost.exe process that you are interest in.
Then highlight one of the process listed under Svchost, right click and from
the options listed select: google
This should display what out there on the web about that process.

Adding to JS advice, does this happen in Safe Mode?.
Try to scan for Malwares and Viruses on your system in both Safe Mode and
Normal Mode.
Also try with Clean Boot, to perform a clean Boot do the following:
Open a run command and Type in:
msconfig click [OK]
On the system Configuration window click on Start Up Tab and there uncheck
unnecessary Programs and Reboot, does the CPU usage is High?.
Run Disk Clean Up then followed by Defrag in Safe Mode, how old is the
machine?.
Open a run command and type in:
netsh winsock reset click [OK] and then Reboot your computer.
HTH.
Let us know.
