Problem with no suffix on mail merge

I'm trying to produce a simple mail merge from Outlook 2003 into Word 2003.
When a get to selecting the fields to merge, I can select <<suffix>> in my
doucument but when I do the merge the suffix in the Contacts record is not
diplayed. If I use the one of the "Address Block" options which uses the
suffix the same thing happens, no suffix!

I've spent a couple of hours searching the 'net for a solution, but all I've
found is a couple of threads reporting the same problem, but no solution.

Posting here in the hope someone knows the answer.

Have you tried starting your merge from Outlook instead of Word?

Hi Russ

Yes, I tried it from Word first and couldn't even see the suffix field.
Starting the merge from Outlook gives me the option to CHOOSE the suffix
field, but the content of the field is not merged into the document - nothing
appears, despite having data in the suffix field.

BTW, tried this on two PC's running Office 2003 with the SAME result.

Any further thoughts?

Thx

Not yet. I'll have to look into it further if I ever get any free time.
The Suffix field has always been problematic.
