Problem with McAfee Antivirus

J

Juan I. Cahis

Dear friends:

I have the last release of McAfee Antivirus in my Notebook. I
installed it two months ago and it worked without any problem.

But, since two weeks, if I want to change the Antivirus Settings, I
get the following message:

"The Task has been configured with an unsupported combination of
account settings and run time options".

"mcp://c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\vso\vsoui.dll:mgavprop.htm"

and the Task crashes.

Any hint?

NOTE: Please don't tell me to ask to McAfee's support, I did it for
several hours, without any practical result. My Account has Admin
privileges, and all the Internet Settings, in the Control Panel, are
set to "default".

Thanks

I agree I am trying trying to delete McAfee with no results. Always
access denied. Their Support is crap either advise doesn't work or they
have technical difficulties.

Yes, I found the solution there!!!!

It was in another thread of the same forum.

The solution was to delete *all* the tasks related to McAfee in the
Tasks Folder, to reboot, and to recreate them from the McAfee Settings
Page. Apparently, if you edit the McAfee related tasks directly from
the Tasks Folder (as you normally do in any other tasks), the McAfee
Settings Page crashes.
