Problem with latest security update (KB912919)?????

Lon Leader

No changes to system other than KB912919.

System suddenly appeared to lock up, but was actually running
extremely slow. Mouse pointer moved at normal speed, some windows
would take focus but not respond. Had task manager running and was
able to select restart with it. Sat reading a book while watching
system shut down - it took about 1.5 hours to do so.

Restored system with 6 day old Drive Image backup. Not yet suspicious
of KB912919 so immediately got it and reinstalled it. Within a half an
hour, problem reoccured except mouse pointer wouldn't move. Used
keyboard to select shutdown in task manager. No more patience to wait
for 1.5 hour shutdown so hit reset. System came back up with a couple
of clean chkdsks. Immediately removed KB912919 with add-remove
programs. System now seems to be OK, but maybe too soon to tell.

Ran Norton antivirus scan, MSAntispy, Spybot - all clean.

Try running a Checkdisk, then unistall and reinstall
your video adapter drivers with the latest ones.
