Instalation of Norton Internet Security Anti Spyware 2005 failed.
Norton recommends:
clean out Temp file. - didn't help
check to see if Task Manager is working. - If I set Task Manager to start
Calculator (for example) on system start-up, then reboot, Task Manager says
Calculator is running, but it is not.

Do you think I am going to have to reinstall my operating system?

Nope. Do not install any Norton/Symantec software.

I agree totally Sir Detlev and have been doing so for years. However,
wasn't it you who gave me his life story links to reconsider my replies?
)

Wow, you are good, Sir Detlev!)

Because I remembered that thread? ;)
And ok, will stick to my norm.

Yes, please.
But am just a bit curious as to why you have swayed.

Did I really sway? I mentioned Peter Norton's brilliant "Norton
Utilities" (plain DOS) in the 80's and these tools were really
good. However, they have nothing in common with all this Symantec
crapware. Symantec purchased his (good) name in order to sell their
own stuff which is not Windows compatible and BTW, never was. As
long as I'm posting to newsgroups, I never ever recommended to use
*any* Norton/Symantec products. To be frankly, Symantec is no bad
company and I don't blame them. Their success is amazing in terms
of turning plain crap into gold. I blame all these morons instead,
supporting this strategy when buying these "products". Also, I do
not blame spammers, they just make money. I blame all these morons
instead, supporting them when buying their advertised crap. Without
these "wise guys", spammers wouldn't even exist.

XOXO
