problem with insert window media player powerpoint

I am a language teacher and I use lots of PPT in my class.

Here is the problem I had:

I insert an Window media player on a Powerpoint slide (insert - object...)
Then I right click on the player to go to Properties. Then from (custom) I
browse to the media file and click OK.

In the slideshow view it works well. I can play the file. However when I
copy this PPT to a CD and bring it to my classroom it doesn't play any more
because the path to the media file is incorrect.

How can I solve this? That is designing in one PC but playing in different
PCs in different classrooms. Any help is appreciated

Put the media file in a folder with the PPT THEN insert it. Now copy the
whole folder to your CD. Does that work?

John,

That works great if you want to have to transport 2 or more files around
ect. But how do I EMBED a file, not a link, but the actual file in a
PowerPoint? I am working on a project in which I need to EMBED a video in to
a PowerPoint, then save it as a .pps PowerPoint Show and be able to copy/send
etc the .pps file ONLY and have the video EMBEDDED in the .pps file. This way
I have a stand alone single all inclusive file.

Is this possible in PowerPoint or this another one of those common sense
features that Microsoft is always leaving out of its many half a** programs
like the ability to have multiple groups in its SyncToy app. (a potentially
excellent product except for a lack of common sense features) in addition to
being able to create one click shortcuts to any one of those groups. Instead
MS gives you the one folder at a time, or ALL folders at once, totally
leaving out the COMMON SENSE feature to be able to put the folder in to
groups etc etc.

Anyway if anyone can tell me a way to get it to TRULY embed a video file
into a PowerPoint file I would be very grateful

Thanks for the help,

Good plan. There's only one flaw in it: PowerPoint. It doesn't embed videos.

Have a look here, though:

Hi John

Have tried that but didn't work in most cases. The reason is that when I
design and embed a win media player PPT on one PC, the path of the linked
audio or video on that PC is recorded. So even when you copy the whole
folder, including the audio and video files, to a CD or to another PC, the
player cannot play the file as it is looking for the same path
