powerpoint media player object

I'm trying to add a Media Player object on the master slide. I press play,
and music starts, but stops when I switch to another slide? I'm designing
the PPT for a dynamic speaker who likes to choose when he wants his songs to
play. WHat can I do that functions from within powerpoint so I don't have to
alt+tab out of PPT during the presentation? Basically I'm looking for a way
to control the music dynamicaly.

Forget about using WMP for this and use PPT's tools. Put the music along
with a start and stop button on your master slide. Then you can start and
stop it on any slide if desired.

I tried this... the problem is that the slides are sometimes covered
completely by an image (and I do not have permission to modify that at all).
That I'm aware of, there's no way to bring any object from the master "to
front" of stuff that's in a slide... Maybe I'm missing something?

If the image covers the entire slide, then put it as the background for that slide and all your other stuff will be on top.

Well if you can't have anything in front of the existing content how are you
clicking on the Media Player?

Regardless, PowerPoint can not read minds. <g> You must either tell it when
to do something via user interaction, or you use timing. There is nothing
else.

For whatever reason the interface for the media player object will stay on
top of everything. It just won't keep playing when I change slides.

Actually, I just found a sneaky little work around. The WMP Object could be
resized to be unobtrusive and would stay on top during the slideshow, but it
didn't stay playing when you changed files. It struck me to do this... it's
a bit funky, but works...

1. I found and downloaded a small, semitransparent skin for Windows Media
Player.

2. I set the WMP setting for "on top of other windows."

3. Set the windows task bar preferences so that the windows task bar will
stay behind other windows. (If you don't do this the task bar will pop up
when you use WMP.)

ViolaI can now "DJ" using WMP and show the slideshow with no visual
interruptions!

However, Iwill be using that "image as a background" trick for another
project I'm working on! Thanks!
