Problem with data file

I just bought a laptop with Vista business pre-installed and I installed
office 2003 on it. I set up a new email account and I get the following error.

"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Outlook could not start
because a data file to send and receive mail could not be found. To add a
data file, such as a personal folder file, double-click the Mail icon in
Windows Control Panel."

I go to Mail in the windows control panel and I try to add a data file and
the only thing I see in "Types of Storage" is Business Contact Manager
Database. And when I add that, there is a problem with rundll32. Anyways, I
searched my computer for .pst and found nothing. Please help. Thanks.

I had a similar problem rolling back from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2003. I
found the solution here:

http://blog.maccarocks.com/2006/07/19/rolling-back-from-outlook-12-2007-beta-release-2/

Essentially this is what you need to do...

delete these from your registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0

delete these in explorer:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033\mapisvc.inf
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mapisvc.inf

When you restart Outlook 2003 it will configure properly.

Best regards,
