Problem with bridging network connections

I'm trying to connect my xbox 360 to my Windows XP desktop pc (which I use
as a media center) via wireless.

My desktop pc has a wireless card in it that works without any problems.
I've connected the desktop to the xbox using a crossover cable.

When I bridge the wireless connection and the network card, I lose the
wireless connection. I can still see my wireless network but it refuses to
connect.

Any ideas please?
