Machines with Wireless briding a network.

Basically, is there any way to stop a wireless laptop connecting to a
network when there is an existing connection to Wired Lan

Example:

Network A is a Ethernet Building LAN

Network B is a Wireless Lan in the same Bulding

Network A can access Network B, but Network B has only limited access
to Network A.

Hence when a user sits down with a laptop and gets connected to Network
A, they can still connect to Network B via wireless. Although they
don't "Bridge" the network they are a bridge point for the network,
which is what I would like to eliminate.

What I need is something that says....When the network is connected via
a cable, disable all wireless connections.

The laptops are on a Domain so GPO is an option if a solution exists.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Cliff.

What I do is If the laptops are in a docking station when they have the
wired lan connection, you can gointo the network connection settings
and disable the wireless connection for the docked profile.

hope this works for you.

Unfortunately they are not neccessarily in a docking station and if
possible, i was hoping for a solution using GPOs. Once again any help
appreciated.

You can workaround this by not letting the client automatically connect
to the wireless network. To do this in group policy navigate to Comuter
Configuration\WIndows Settings\Wireless Network Policies. Create a
policy and and make sure that the automatically connect to preferred
networks is unchecked. The user would then have to manually connect to
the wireless network when needed.

hope this helps,
