Problem w/Outlook 2003

One Computer, 2 User Accounts. Outlook 2003 works with all “bells and
whistles†on one account, but Cannot even get it to open on 2nd. Account.
Re-Loaded Outlook 2003 Program 2x’s with no success. Dell looked at it
yesterday since they installed the software and could not get it to work.
Stated apparently, MS problem. MS not really helping with this problem wrote
that I should contact this site. Error message keeps coming back…â€Connection
to Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Must be online or connected.â€
All other MS Office Professional 2003 items work fine!

Computer has account with MSN to provide ISP services.

Help…extremely frustrating.

Basically sounds like that account either does not have an Exchange account configured check this by going to Tools Email Accounts and verify that it is indeed there and configured correctly. If you do not use Exchange then setup to your POP or IMAP account in the same location above and make it your default.

Next, confirm Outlook is not offline by going to File - Offline - if checked remove it.

Kind Regards,

You mean delting the whole other user account? I made a 3rd User account
yesterday to see if it would work, and it did.

Thank You Francine...I'll let you know. Different direction, but sounds good
so far.

Thanks,

Francine,

Didn't work. Outlook 2003 will not even open w/o a proper email sign in
order to create an account. Followed your suggestion but would not work.
Any other ideas?

Thanks...

Use the Mail applet in Control Panel to configure your mail profile without
opening Outlook.

Brian and Francine,

First let say thank you for your help. While it did not provide the answers
I needed to get Outlook ’03 running for the 2nd user, I can only presume that
MS has made an inferior product. Judging by the quantity of questions asked
on this discussion group, MS is aware of their failings and have contributed
further to their problems, and others.

I am appreciative of people like you who have the wherewithal to pursue
rectifying situations caused by others. Keep up the good work and thank you
again,

John

I don't agree that these are valid conclusions. Nevertheless, if your
problem has been addressed, that's good news.
