Hello,

I need help with the Start Menu Windows XP Home Edition.

I was able to right click on it, and choose things to do. i.e. sort, find
target. All of a sudden I am unable to do that. Can someone please help
me fix this problem?

Thank You for all replies.

What problem? What happens when you right click?

One thing I find is right clicking on a folder in the start menu, doesn't
always show me the options that I expect or want. I have better luck right
clicking in an area where there are just icons.

If not able to get any context menu, open Control Panel and then
Taskbar/Start Menu properties. On the Start Menu page, click Customize.
Under advanced, place a check mark next to "enable dragging and dropping."
OK your way back to desktop. Right click menus for start menu and desktop
items should work now.

Thank you very much for your help. That fixed my problem.

Jumping in on this thread if U don't mind, I got as far as Customize,
but can't find Advanced. All it shows is a list of Customize
Notifications for Notification Behavior: Current Items and Past Items.
(would love to get rid of those Past Items-quite a list)
Am I missing something in this folder?
cheers-Herb.

There are two pages of the main Taskbar/Start menu properties. You're one
the taskbar page, not the start menu page.

From original post: "On the Start Menu page, click Customize."
