Problem sending the command to the program in XP

I just installed a new version of the Cisco VPN client,
and when I click on certain types of documents, I
get "problem sending the command to the program". It
opens the application, but won't open the document. The
problem happens with Word and Excel, but not Access,
Powerpoint, txt, or pdf files.

I have a shortcut on my taskbar to a folder, and it has
the same problem, BUT it opens ok from my desktop!

If I open the application first and open the Word or
Excel document, it works fine.

I tried changing the file association back and forth, but
that didn't help.

Any ideas?

I think your best bet for accurate help is to call the Cisco VPN
client's tech support.
