Problem sending and receiving email with Windows Mail

I am having trouble sending and receiving email using Windows Mail with
Vista. I have tried a variety of possible solutions including uninstalling
Norton360 and changing settings, but without success. Can anyone please help
me figure out what to do. Here are the 2 error messages:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Rusten's Photo', Account:
'suddenlink.net', Server: 'suddenlink.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'suddenlink.net', Server: 'suddenlink.net', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number:

If your XP computer is still receiving the email, then it may not be
available for the Vista computer to download. If you wish to receive the
same email on both computers, configure both email programs to leave the
email on the server after downloading.

Assuming it's a POP account...
Tools - Accounts - youraccount - Properties - Advanced
[x] Leave a copy of messages on server
[x] Remove from server after [xx] days

The server name you are using, suddenlink.net, is not correct.
Use the server names specified by your ISP: smtp.suddenlink.net
for outgoing, and pop.suddenlink.net for incoming.
