Problem running CF client with WebService

I'm running a simple Hello World webservice (developed and runing on my
desktop PC)
I developed a small test CF program for using this service, but every time i
execute it on my ipaq (via ActiveSync) my ipaq tries to call a number, and
the CF app gives an error (can not connect to remote, although the
webservice is running on thesame desktop PC as the CF client has been
developed).

What can be the reason for this?

If i change localhost to the IP-address of my PC it works.
Strange, because in the past it worked also with localhost.

Anyone has an explantion for this?

It has *never* worked on the device with "localhost". localhost means the
machine on which you are running, so for a device, it means "the web server
on this device" which doesn't exist in CE (for WS heosting).
