Problem organizing files

I'm using Winows Vista Ultimate with all latest auto-updates via Windows Live
OneCare on a 32-bit ASUS VX2 laptop with Microsoft Office 2007, etc.
On my previous laptop, an IBM T22 running Win2000Pro, in Windows Explorer -
in just the one single window - I could move files from any folder to any
other folder. However, EVERY time I try to do that on my current machine
(new & top of the line in May 2007) Windows Explorer CLOSES. It then
suggests that I load KB941649, which I have done more than once! The blurb
refers to all sorts of problems that that download is supposed to fix, but
not to my problem - which remains unfixed. I have found a workaround, namely
open two separate (smaller) windows of Windows Explorer and move the files
out of FolderA in one of those windows into FolderB in the other window! It
works, but why should I have to take that long way around when previously it
was possible to do it all in just one single window??

I tried, but the download you suggest seems to be for a x64 machine while
mine is a 32bit. Otherwise, looks like exactly the right solution. Is there
a 32bit equivalent download? Where?

Hi:

The problem not only arises when copying files from folder to folder but
when opening more than one explorer window (this includes all windows such
us control panel, windows explorer, My computer, Search, etc). So the
solution of the context menu only solves part of the issue.
