Problem linking to BCM

T

themurf

I want to link to my business contacts in BCM. I can do this on fine on my
personal computer but can't do it on a different computer. In Access I set up
the link to the MSSmallbusiness database but when it gives me the list of
tables I have to choose from the "dbo.PublicContactsView" table which I need
is not in the list. I am sure there is some sort of block put on the table
for some reason. I can access the contacts from the BCM wtih no problem.

The computer I am using is a Windows Small Business Server 2003. The BCM
database is on that computer and working fine from BCM. Using Outlook 2007
and Access 2007

Hi,

I am not familiar with BCM, but it looks like it uses SQL Server. SQL
Server can be set to authenticate against the Windows user. Do you use
different user names when you log onto your personal computer vs. the other
computer? Does the BCM work fine from both computers? Does it require you
to log in separately from Windows? Is there any difference when you connect
to BCM from either of the computers? When you are trying to link to the
table from Access does it request that you log in or does it take you
directly to the tables list? Is this the same on both computers or
different? Maybe these questions will help you get pointed in the right
direction. If not, post back with the answers and any other details you can
think of; and maybe someone who knows SQL Server, or whatever the database is
(please specify), can help you.
