Problem Devices After XP Upgrade - VXD Loader

I have two drives (ATAPI DVD-RW) and SCSI-2 (Seagate 4mm DAT) that are
inoperative after an upgrade from W2K. Sys Info reports "Failure using the
VxD loader" Driver info reports corrupt or incomplete registry enteries.
Driver re-install cannot locate device. Any ideas?

Motherboard drivers for the IDE Controller for the DVD drive and updated
SCSI card drivers for the SCSI card would be my first suggestion.

Cari, Thanks for your reply. It would appear that the MB drivers for the
controllers are working properly. Other devices attached to them are
functional. Both devices can be addressed using mfg. specific diagnostic
tools. MSCDEX.exe is inplace and properly config'd.

It would appear that the registry is corrupted even though I have run
routines to clean up errors. Naturally I can't do a restore as the tape
streamer is non-functional.
