Guest

I have 3 linux machines and a window xp pro box. those are in same network.
And there is a printer which connected to window machine.

How can I print to the printer from linux machine to window connected printer?

I read about the unix printing service and I followed those steps to
configure window and linux.
(add unix printing service and restart TCP/IP printing serice from window
machine.
Add A printer from window and make a shared name.
From Linux, using CUPS, added lpd printer with the Ip address of window
machine and spool name which is used for window printer..)

But I coun't print out to the window attached printer.
ths jobs are accumulated to the spool in linux machine. it said attempting
to connect to server...

The ping works from linux to/from window machine. But not the printing
service.

Please give me step by step configuration guide to set up window and linux
machine.

Please help out!!URGENT..

And thanks ahead..

The LPD service in XP is not set to start Automatically. Be sure to set
this so the next time you reboot it will start. The next thing is the
firewall setting. LPD service listens on TCP/IP Port number 515. Add this
port to the exception list or add the tcpsvcs.exe allowing port 515.
