printing pictures

My younger brother claims printing pictures with ME is better then with XP.
So I put Me on another hard drive, same picture, same printer install cd,
same programs same options and size and son of a gun if he isn't right. Win
xp seems to not support some of the features that ME and 9x do. I had been
using the latest printer driver and for testing I uninstalled it and cleaned
then reinstalled original drivers for xp. No difference, ME still prints a
better photo. # different Lexmark printers and 2 different HP printers, all
purchased within the last year and all support XP. Any one have idea as too
why? I really hate ME and apparently printing photos is about the only thing
ME does well.

For me, the quality of printing images with my Lexmark printer varies with
which image program I choose to print with, and the customized print
settings that I set for use with that program. Although I have some good
image editing software, for some reason I get the best image printing
results with the inexpensive quick image viewer/manager ACDSee, using my
customized print settings. I'm thinking that it might not be the operating
system, but the software that you're using, and the print settings for the
software that are giving you different quality.
