I am relatively new to digital photography after having an Olympus OM1 and using 35 mm film and printing my own pictures.

I want to begin printing my own digital photos to archival standards but am completely confused about the range of printers available from Epson, Canon , HP etc and despite reading-up on the internet and other sources cannot make up my mind.

I have one or two specific requirements for the printer;

1.prints should be capable of archival quality

2. Should be able to print bigger than A4 (probably up to A3)

3. Inks should be readily available.

Lastly, I know printers can be expensive, so would appreciate advice on a good older (used) model

Thank you in anticipation.

From my experience the best options are from Epson or Canon. Even though the cost may be a little more I would recommend going with a new printer.
