Printer properties cannot be displayed.Operation could not be completed

I have installed a network printer but I have to reistall it on both local
and network computers every time I turn them on.
Otherwise it would not print and when going to Start-Settings-Printers (the
network printer is shown there with status as "ready")-Properties I am
getting a message
"Printer properties cannot be displayed.Operation could not be completed"

What can be done about it?
