If you plug another USB device into the same port, is that recognised?

Printers that do not include a scanner are not normally listed in Imaging
devices. Imaging devices are usually scanners, cameras and web cams.

You can try the following:

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
cd %SystemRoot%\System32
start devmgmt.msc

And select "Show hidden devices" under View.

You may see a Printers section.

If the main problem is that it only prints the Windows logo then it might be
that a nozzle is clogged. If it wont print anything in black then try
cleaning the nozzles. Good luck.

As Yves Leclerc said, the reason that the Stylus 6600 shows up in Device
manager is because it has a scanner. Forget about Device Manager.

1. Confirm that the printer itself is OK. Read the manual and find out
how to print a test page directly from the printer's control panel
(i.e., withOUT using your computer). If the printer is OK, then

2. Completely uninstall and reinstall the printer, following the advice
from MS MVP Cari: http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article_One.htm

Our Home Louisiana movie of St. Bernard Parish (more) (less)

Thanks to everyone: Gordon, Yves (We are all French in Louisiana) Jav and
Lem,

The nozzles needed cleaning. But it never faded or had bad prints: It just
quit. After the Epson maintanance and nozzle clearning it is printing
again.

And it was new INFO that only the scanner would show in the Imaging / Device
Manager.
