Printer Driver Removal/Setup for HP LJ5 in WinXP

Guest

Been trying to remove/delete duplicate printer/drivers for my HP Laserjet 5P
using
"Remove" function in dropdown menu after right-clicking printer in
Printers/Faxes of Control Panel in WinXP Pro. I get same msg for all
printers, default and otherwise: "This operation has been cancelled due to
restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system
administrator."
I run a single computer system. What settings need to be changed to remove
duplicate printer drivers?
Thanks in advance.

the policy that blocks printer deletion is enabled on the system

gpedit.msc ( you need administrative rights)

User configuration / Admin templates / Control Panel / Printers /
Prevent deletion of printers

set this unconfigured or disabled.
