Thanks & I was expecting it to work, as I described, like it used to do, for
2-3 years

As I said before, you obviously had third-party software installed
that behaved the way you describe for those 2-3 years. I have no idea
what you had installed nor why it's no longer running. Standard
Windows does *not* work that way.

Thanks Don, I'll check & see.

Dallas,

You could do a visual search of the Add/Remove Programs list and see if
there is an item that contains the word "Print" or "Screen"; it may ring
some bells.

Thanks again Ken & I never said it didn't have a 3rd party software as I was
used to pressing P/S & it would work as I described. I was just looking for
why it stopped acting as it had.

Thanks

I found it Don - it is Gadwin Print Screen & apparently the version became
obsolete ? Well, whatever, I am now trying to D/L the latest version & am
having problems. After I D/L'ed it, at the end of the Install process
another small window popped & it said I had a better product, therefore it
was being aborted. So I wrote their support staff to see what may be wrong.

Sounds like the mystery is near solved.

A good start for the new year.

Take care,
