Print Properties in wrong language

Mike

Im having a problem with a printer we are sharing over
our network. An HP Designjet 500 is installed off of our
NT server, but when I goto intstall the printer on my XP
machine, the print properties show up in Spanish. Other
XP boxes do not have this problem. Any thoughts?

Hi Mike,

I'm assuming all the XP clients are connected to the DesignJet and just one
is using a Spanish driver?

The client machine should get the printer driver in the language of the
print server, unless you've got a newer driver with the same name (and
apparently in Spanish) installed on the client, in which case it will use
that one. You could try deleting the printer connection on the client
machine, going to the printers and faxes folder on that machine, choosing
File->Server Properties and going to the Drivers tab and deleting the
DesignJet driver. Then try to re-connect to the print server and you should
get the driver downloaded from the server.

Regards,

I don't know if it is any connection but I suddenly had the properties of my
Brother HL-5040 in Swedish ! Brother Support told me to download a special
driver uninstall program from their website I did this, unzipped it and ran
it. There was one minor hiccup but it did it. I then reinstalled the
driver from the CD. It worked.
