print issue

I'm using Office 2003 and am having perplexing print problem with Ricoh 3800c
networked printer. This problem only occurs in PowerPoint and Publisher.
The issue is;
Not able to control printer, will not duplex, staple or grayscale. Slides
or handouts print ok but can not use advanced features of printer.

Any ideas, tried doing a reinstall/repair to no avail

thanks..........doug

If there is any way to use a local printer (connected to the machine through
USB or Parallel not Ethernet) you may want to try this.

Perhaps, as a test, you could connect the printer directly (USB/Parallel),
install the printer software, and try printing. If this works, try
replacing the printer on the network and see if the locally installed
drivers and software will run the networked printer.

In addition to Bill's suggestions, try setting the options you want as printer
defaults before starting PPT. Then fire up the presentation, print, and don't
forget to set the options back to the desired setting when done.

I'd also check with the manufacturer to see whether updated drivers are
available.
