Primary Hard Drive Letter

I had two new hard drives installed on my computer formatted and for some
reason , the person who did it created Hard Drive 1 as "J" instead of "C" and
Hard Drive 2 as "K" instead of D, can the drive letters be changed without
cause problems or do I have to start all over again. Also can I partition
Hard Drive 2 without formatting again and how do I do this?

If you are not talking about the 'system drive letter, this will explain it
Q307844 - HOW TO Change Drive Letter Assignments in Windows XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q307844

On the other hand, if it IS the system drive:
Please believe I'm trying to help. If you really want a discussion of drive
letter assignment in XP you don't get to flap your hands and say "I don't
understand that technical stuff" or whatever. It is a very technical question
having to do with the hardware running on your system, and what configuration
the 'jumpers' on the drives are, and what items of hardware are present. You
are asking a question without any info supplied about the platform you are
using.

I have no problem with helping you understand it. I just don't want to spend
a lot of time taking to someone unwilling to go into it. What do you know
about the system, in terms of it's drives, and letter asignments so far? It's
likely you can get what you want, but it's not going to be a 'walk in the
park.' :) XP asigns it's letters based on what's in there already.

One simple solution is to pull out everything else, install xp on one drive
(C:), and reinstall everything.
The second drive can be partitioned in disk management, as the link above
discribes.
