In the explorer, when views setting is set to large and the file is an icon,
the icon can be preview. When I installed ACDSee, It automatically assoicate
the ico exntension. How I do restore the preview in windows explorer?

I do not have a preview of ico files in Windows Explorer but the icon does show as the icon for my ico files. If that is what yu want then:

Start | Run | regedit | OK

Navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ico

Then make sure the Content Type says,

image/x-icon

It is a string value.

Next only one key under this key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ico\PersistentHandler

That should have a (Default) of:

{098f2470-bae0-11cd-b579-08002b30bfeb}

also of type String. And no other entries under it.

Note due to the Windows Installer Tecnology the next time ACDSee is accessed the ico association may revert back.
